Ik heb een aantal distilleerderijen en brouwerijen in en rond Edinburgh geselecteerd, die daar distilleren en brouwen, en die een grote aanhang hebben in heel Schotland en sommige wereldwijd.
Elk heeft zijn eigen rondleidingen waar u kunt zien hoe hun producten worden gemaakt en het product kunt proeven.

Om te beginnen is dit alleen meer dan 18 jaar oud, omdat we een whisky-distilleerderij en gin-distilleerderij zullen bezoeken en zowel whisky als gin en andere producten zullen proeven. Je bezoekt The Glenkinchie Distillery and Visitor Centre waar je een rondleiding krijgt door de distilleerderij en de whisky proeft. Je hebt tijd om rond te kijken in de winkel en meer whisky te proberen voordat je koopt. Er is ook een unieke Bottle your own uit een whiskyvat.

Gin & Rum
NB Gin-distilleerderij
De NB Distillery begon in een keuken net als de oude manier van distilleren. Toen de eigenaren eenmaal de juiste formule hadden gekozen en gemaakt van de beste bronproducten en water, openden ze hun eerste distilleerderij.
Nu is NB Gin wereldwijd bekend en het nieuwste product is een Golden Rum die je niet mag missen.

Holyrood Distilleerderij
De Holyrood-distilleerderij en het bezoekerscentrum bevindt zich in de buurt van Arthur Seat op St Leonard's Hill.
Holyrood Distillery is de eerste distilleerderij die in meer dan 100 jaar een single malt whisky produceert.
Holyrood whisky-distilleerderij werd bekroond in de Icons of Whisky Awards,
Beste Schotse attractie 2021.

Belhaven Brouwerij Tour
Belhaven Brewery werd ongeveer 800 jaar geleden opgericht door de benedictijnse monniken en is de oudste brouwerij in Schotland. Belhaven is een succesvolle onafhankelijke brouwerij in zijn soort in Schotland.

Stewart's brouwerijtour
Stewart's Brewery werd in 2004 geopend door Steve Stewart en zijn vrouw Jo.
Geniet met veel ambachtelijke bieren van een rondleiding door de brouwerij en eet wat en koop wat geschenken.

Glenlivet Distillery

A name known around the world, Glenlivet near Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland
in the Speyside region.
George IV on his visit to Scotland drank the famous malt (illegal at that time).
Glenlivet became the oldest legal distillery in the parish of Glenlivet.
Producing single malt Scotch whisky under license since 1824.
Whilst in Ballindalloch, why not visit the Ballindalloch Castle and Gardens since the 16th century.
The water that makes Glenlivet special comes from ‘Josie's Well’, and other springs near the distillery.
Glenfiddich Distillery
Single Malt Whisky

Glenfiddich Malt Whisky has been produced by the Grant family since its founding in 1887.
The Distillery was literally built by hand, by the family taking a year to build.
Named by William Grant after the land purchased to build the distillery on
‘Glenfiddich’ Gaelic ‘Valley of The Deer’.

Glenmorangie Distillery
Single Malt Whisky

William and Ann Matheson had a dream which they fulfilled in 1843,
when they founded the Glenmorangie Distillery. The Tarlogie Springs are the source of the
unique waters that give the fruity taste to Glenmorangie Malt Whisky.
Glenmorangie Whisky has been produced on the site since its founding.
Aberlour Distillery

Aberlour Distillery was first founded by the Grants in 1825 but in 1833 the built their own distillery in Rothes. Along came James Fleming, founding the present distillery in 1879.
The whisky is aged in both ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks giving unique flavours.

De Eden Mill herleefde distilleren en brouwen in St. Andrews.
De eerste single-site distilleerderij en brouwerij van Schotland, die gin, whisky en bier maakt, Eden Mill gebruikt lokale producten bij het distilleren en brouwen. De River Eden wordt al meer dan 200 jaar gebruikt bij het distilleren en brouwen.
